Picture: David was anointed as king to replace Saul. He was set to play the harp as therapy for Saul, but had to escape to save his life. He prophesied that Christ was God’s Messiah (anointed), he was killed, but God raised him from the dead and installed him as his Messiah at his right hand in heaven.
In the Psalms, many testified to their faith in God, and the psalmist Asaph prophesied that God would stand in the “assembly of the gods” and render judgment.
Moses told the people that they were to be children of God, so that through his instruction and training they would grow up to be “gods”. But Moses foresaw that they would rebel, so that they would lose their land and be taken away. When they were then allowed to return to their land by God’s grace, they were to be circumcised on heart.
God had Samuel anoint David as king, even so he had to flee from Saul and his army, but it was in this way that he took refuge in the Lord and asked Him to save him from the enemy and then it happened that the enemy was judged and lost in battle and that was his salvation. We see this time and again in the Old Testament and that hope is expressed in their prayers as well.
Asaph was a psalmist in David’s time and he said that God stands in the “assembly of gods” and holds judgment, and that is precisely what happened with David and he made many prophecies about the Messiah.
God stands in the assembly of El;
in the midst of the gods he renders judgment.
2 He says, “How long will you make unjust legal decisions
and show favoritism to the wicked? (Selah)
3 Defend the cause of the poor and the fatherless.
Vindicate the oppressed and suffering.
4 Rescue the poor and needy.
Deliver them from the power of the wicked.
5 They neither know nor understand.
They stumble around in the dark,
while all the foundations of the earth crumble.
6 I thought, ‘You are gods;
all of you are sons of the Most High.’
7 Yet you will die like mortals;
you will fall like all the other rulers.”
8 Rise up, O God, and execute judgment on the earth!
For you own all the nations.
Salms.95,3 Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord.
Let us shout out praises to our Protector who delivers us.
2 Let us enter his presence with thanksgiving.
Let us shout out to him in celebration.
3 For the Lord is a great God,
a great king who is superior to all gods.
.
Psalme.136,1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
for his loyal love endures.
2 Give thanks to the God of gods,
for his loyal love endures.
3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords,
for his loyal love endures.
4 To the one who performs magnificent, amazing deeds all by himself,
for his loyal love endures.
The people of Israel fell away from the Lord their God, so their land was taken and they were taken away to Babylon. But they were allowed to return to their land, as prophesied. Thus the God of Israel showed that he was the true God.
Isaiah.41,21 “Present your argument,” says the Lord.
“Produce your evidence,” says Jacob’s King.
22 “Let them produce evidence! Let them tell us what will happen!
Tell us about your earlier predictive oracles,
so we may examine them and see how they were fulfilled.
Or decree for us some future events!
23 Predict how future events will turn out,
so we might know you are gods.
Yes, do something good or something bad,
so we might be frightened and in awe.
24 Look, you are nothing, and your accomplishments are nonexistent;
the one who chooses to worship you is disgusting.
25 I have stirred up one out of the north and he advances,
one from the eastern horizon who prays in my name.
He steps on rulers as if they were clay,
like a potter treading the clay.
26 Who decreed this from the beginning, so we could know?
Who announced it ahead of time, so we could say, ‘He’s correct’?
Indeed, none of them decreed it.
Indeed, none of them announced it.
Indeed, no one heard you say anything!
27 I first decreed to Zion, ‘Look, here’s what will happen!’
I sent a herald to Jerusalem.
28 I look, but there is no one,
among them there is no one who serves as an adviser
that I might ask questions and receive answers.
29 Look, all of them are nothing,
their accomplishments are nonexistent;
their metal images lack any real substance.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believd in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. And he stood i the council of gods, and judged.
Joel prophesied that God would pour out his Spirit on all flesh, but then he also prophesied about a day of judgment.
Joel.2,27 You will be convinced that I am in the midst of Israel.
I am the Lord your God; there is no other.
My people will never again be put to shame.
An Outpouring of the Spirit
28 (3:1) “After all of this
I will pour out my Spirit on all kinds of people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy.
Your elderly will have prophetic dreams;
your young men will see visions.
29 Even on male and female servants
I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
30 I will produce portents both in the sky and on the earth—
blood, fire, and columns of smoke.
31 The sunlight will be turned to darkness
and the moon to the color of blood,
before the day of the Lord comes—
that great and terrible day!
32 It will so happen that
everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be delivered.
For on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be those who survive,
just as the Lord has promised;
the remnant will be those whom the Lord will call.
This judgment day (the Lord’s day) was primarily that Christ died on the cross for the sin of the whole world and with his death judged the sin in the flesh.
The sin in the flesh can simply be said to be that they tried to idolize themselves with their fleshly nature. It was by eating from the tree of knowledge, the tree that gives knowledge of good and evil, so they tried to idolize themselves with their knowledge of good and evil, a moral philosophical knowledge, that is.
After the fall, Adam and Eve noticed that God was walking in the garden, so they hid from him with a bad conscience, with the attitude, that is, that the love relationship between them was something that God should have anything to do with. But God called Adam and there was a court settlement, Adam was sentenced to death, he was dust and to dust he would return. God is spirit, but Adam was dust and was not like God anyway.
But Christ died on the cross instead of us, God raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in heaven, to be our high priest with the Father, our savior king and king of kings. When we accept Christ by faith, we receive the salvation that God gives us in him and then we will see it as if we were crucified and died with him and in baptism buried with him, there we are also resurrected with him by the saving power of God who raised him from the dead.
But we have the same bodies, unless he has healed us for illness. visible or invisible, the same biology, the same genes, unless he has healed us for a hereditary disease. How can we then have received a new nature? It is like with the wheat grain, when it is pollinated, it gets a new nature, which is different from the rest of the plant. The pollination here is a symbol of the new nature Jesus gives us from heaven, he is the bread of life who came down from heaven to give life to the world, the Word he has spoken to us is spirit and life. God harvests the grain and takes care of it, but it is different with the chaff, these are those who have not received in faith and have not received a new nature.
Luk.3,15 While the people were filled with anticipation and they all wondered whetherperhaps John could be the Christ, 16 John answered them all, “I baptize you with water, but one more powerful than I am is coming—I am not worthy to untie the strap of his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 17 His winnowing fork is in his hand to clean out his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his storehouse, but the chaff he will burn up with inextinguishable fire.”
Acknowledge Christ as our Savior and Lord, so that we protect ourselves against those who would steal our freedom.
Moses told the people that they should be children of God, but he foresaw that they would rebel and be punished for it and be taken away from their land. But by God’s grace they should return to it and then they should be circumcised. When they returned to their land, it was important for them to start building the temple, because then God would bless them. They faced opposition, but the prophet Zechariah encouraged them and said that it only happened by the Spirit of God.
Zec.4,6 6 Therefore he told me, “This is the Lord’s message to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by strength and not by power, butby my Spirit,’ says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
7 “What are you, you great mountain? Because of Zerubbabel you will become a level plain! And he will bring forth the temple capstone with shoutings of ‘Grace! Grace!’ because of this.”
Since then, Paul called the new covenant the circumcision of the heart in the Holy Spirit. The point is precisely that God does his work in us and with us by his Word and his Spirit, and that is most fundamental.
Rom.2,28 For a person is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision something that is outward in the flesh, 29 but someone is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is of the heart by the Spirit and not by the letter. This person’s praise is not from people but from God.
Rom.8,14 14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery leading again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit himself bears witness to our spirit that we areGod’s children. 17 And if children, then heirs (namely, heirs of God and also fellow heirs with Christ)—if indeed we suffer with him so we may also be glorified with him.
Paul taught us to live in freedom as children of God and to be careful that no one deceive us from our freedom.
Gal.2,3 Yet not even Titus, who was with me, was compelled to be circumcised, although he was a Greek.
The man should know how to win his own wife in holiness and then others must not try to deceive him (1 Thess. 4:3-8). Christ is the head of the man and the man is the head of the woman and so Christ is the head of the church which is his bride. And then we shall grow up to him who is the head of the Christian church, Christ.
We say what Jesus is for us and honor and thank him for it. If then others reject it, it is as if they want to replace it with human works, most likely a demand that we must try to replace it with our own works. But then man can´t do the works of God. It becomes like a demand that they must try to do the work of God, but in their own power?! Try to idolize themselves with their human and carnal nature? Thus it is conducive to foolishness and seduction as at the fall, even as a demand. Thus it can lead to them rejecting and denying the Father and the Son. And if they start by denying the Father and the Son, it will lead to them replacing God’s work with human work and demanding that man do it. But man cannot do God’s work, the result is that they are made slaves. And it so happens that there are those who want to sell them as slaves and sheep for slaughter, to make money from it.
As God’s co-workers, there is also something we must do, then we must learn to distinguish between what He does in our lives and what we should do, what God does is most fundamental, when we acknowledge it and honor and thank Him for it, as the first priority, we will surely gain clarity in what we should do, as the second priority.
Christ is the Good Shepherd and the last Adam, who is from heaven and who has become a life-giving spirit for us. He cultivates and protects God’s garden for time and eternity.
The Good Shepherd.
The Inept Shepherd shepherd the sheep for slaughter for the sheep traders, thus worldly, material wealth was valued over the spiritual life in communion with God. But Christ is the Good Shepherd who laid down his life for the sheep.
Zek.11,4 4 The Lord my God says this: “Shepherd the flock set aside for slaughter. 5 Those who buy them slaughter them and are notheld guilty; those who sell them say, ‘Blessed be the Lord, for I am rich.’ Their own shepherds have no compassion for them.
………….
12 Then I said to them, “If it seems good to you, pay me my wages, but if not, forget it.” So they weighed out my payment—30 piecesof silver. 13 The Lord then said to me, “Throw to the potter that exorbitant sum at which they valued me!” So I took the 30 piecesof silver and threw them to the potter at the temple of the Lord. 14Then I cut the second staff “Union” in two in order to annul the covenant of brotherhood between Judah and Israel.
Joh.10,11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his lifefor the sheep. 12 The hired hand, who is not a shepherd and does not own sheep, sees the wolf coming and abandons the sheepand runs away. So the wolf attacks the sheep and scatters them.13 Because he is a hired hand and is not concerned about the sheep, he runs away.
14 “I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 I have other sheep that do notcome from this sheepfold. I must bring them too, and they will listen to my voice, so that there will be one flock and oneshepherd. 17 This is why the Father loves me—because I lay downmy life, so that I may take it back again. 18 No one takes it awayfrom me, but I lay it down of my own free will. I have the authorityto lay it down, and I have the authority to take it back again. This commandment I received from my Father.”
Christ is our high priest with the Father, by believing in him we get a sure hope, in hope we are saved.
Jesus paid the price for us with his own blood, to buy us free from slavery under sin and idols, to buy us back to the living and true God, so that we will belong to him and live for him. By believing in Christ we receive the Holy Spirit by grace alone, by believing in him we accept him, thus we receive his Spirit, then we belong to him and are saved. In hope we are saved, so that it is an anchor for our soul. Then we must continue to turn to him, so that we look forward to what we hope for. Christ is the Word of God, through the cleansing in Jesus’ blood and the fullness of the Holy Spirit, we experience that the Holy Spirit reveals God’s Word to us, reveals Christ to us as our savior and Lord.
Heb.6,17 In the same way God wanted to demonstrate more clearly to the heirs of the promise that his purpose was unchangeable, and so he intervened with an oath, 18 so that we who have found refuge in him may find strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us through two unchangeablethings, since it is impossible for God to lie. 19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, sure and steadfast, which reachesinside behind the curtain, 20 where Jesus our forerunner enteredon our behalf, since he became a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.
Rom.8,18 For I consider that our present sufferings cannot even be compared to the coming glory that will be revealed to us. 19 Forthe creation eagerly waits for the revelation of the sons of God. 20For the creation was subjected to futility—not willingly butbecause of God who subjected it—in hope 21 that the creationitself will also be set free from the bondage of decay into the glorious freedom of God’s children. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers together until now. 23 Notonly this, but we ourselves also, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we eagerly await our adoption, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in hope we were saved. Nowhope that is seen is not hope, because who hopes for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait forit with endurance.
26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how we should pray, but the Spirit himself intercedesfor us with inexpressible groanings. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedeson behalf of the saints according to God’s will.
With science education we learn to think independently. We are also faced with the question of finding meaning in it. God created man and put him to cultivate and protect God’s garden, so that it gave meaning to life. But now Christ is the last Adam, so he is the one who cultivates and protects God’s garden for time and eternity.
Science, philosophy and Christianity.
When we learn science, we learn to think independently. We do not learn to worship idols of sticks and stones, instead we learn to examine sticks and stones with scientific methods, so that we can make useful tools from sticks and stones. With the methods of science we become able to investigate a matter ourself, thus we become more independent.
In modern science, experience in the material environment is fundamentally important, especially in the repeatable experiment. But we use an invisible rationality, especially in mathematics, to explain what happens and it is actually that which is repeatable. The scientist becomes a passive observer, who should not influence the process. But this role is not our entire perspective on life, because in reality we are not just observers of physical reality and biological life, but we are part of it, as actors as well. The biologist can find out a lot about how biological life is and can tell others about it. He and she must be able to have their opinions about how it should be too, so that they can cultivate and protect God’s garden, but if it conflicts with how life actually is and they still try to implement it, it can on the contrary have a deadly effect. That was clearly what happened at the fall, so instead of a well-watered and fruitful garden, thorns and thistles took over. It is a contradiction that we encounter again later in the Bible and it is still very relevant.
Heb.6,Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
3 And this will we do, if God permit.
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
With science we learned modern technology, while it improved the productivity of business and it became crucial for the development of rich modern societies. I argue that Christianity was also fundamentally important for this, it gave us a spiritual blessing, which also resulted in a material blessing. Therefore, we do right to honor and thank God the Father and Christ for it. According to Marxism, it will happen that people no longer understand this, so the workers become so alienated that they begin to worship that which they themselves make and the means of production with which they produce them. But that then means that they are deceived, as if there are some who consider it so that fortunately they are stupid enough to be deceived, so that they can gain power over them. This is clearly the point of “woke” and “pride”. They do not see the meaning in marriage between a man and a woman, most likely because they have given up, because of the resistance a man encounters when he wants to find a wife. And it is because there are such strong economic interests in making them slaves.
Joel.3,6 And the children of Juda, and the children of Jerusalem you have sold to the children of the Greeks, that you might remove them far off from their own country.
7 Behold, I will raise them up out of the place wherein you have sold them: and I will return your recompense upon your own heads.
8 And I will sell your sons, and your daughters by the hands of the children of Juda, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, a nation far off, for the Lord hath spoken it.
Stephen Hawking became famous with the popular science book “Universe without Borders”. On the last page he wrote that in the 19th and 20th centuries, science became so technical and mathematical that only a small number understood it, so according to Wittgenstein, the task of philosophers was reduced to language analysis, a decline for the great philosophical tradition of Aristotle and Kant.
Mathematicians and theoretical physicists are working to unify the fundamental laws of physics into one law, namely the weak and strong nuclear forces, the electromagnetic force and gravity, in a complete theory. If they succeed, it should be more understandable to more people, so that ordinary people can participate in the discussion of why the universe exists. If we find the answer to that, it will be the final triumph of human reason, because then we will know the mind of God. Such was the last sentence in the book. Later he wrote that this last sentence he considered less important, as if it was not so well thought out, not a certain claim. But it made his book a better bestseller.
There are probably those who think that if they find such a complete theory, they have disproved the existence of God, it is as if they replace him with their knowledge, but that is completely crazy. God is one, he spoke his Word and it happened, while a Word put the stars in the sky for him, in this sense there is a unified theory. But if they find such a complete theory and they say the formula, it does not mean that they can recreate the Big Bang with it!
Hawking must have seen meaning in life long before this, he must have seen meaning in what he was doing. But shouldn’t he have found God’s meaning in his life a long time ago? Well, according to the Gospel he should and it shouldn’t be that difficult either.
Matthew 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said: I confess to thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to the little ones.
26 Yea, Father; for so hath it seemed good in thy sight.
27 All things are delivered to me by my Father. And no one knoweth the Son, but the Father: neither doth any one know the Father, but the Son, and he to whom it shall please the Son to reveal him.
28 Come to me, all you that labour, and are burdened, and I will refresh you.
29 Take up my yoke upon you, and learn of me, because I am meek, and humble of heart: and you shall find rest to your souls.
30 For my yoke is sweet and my burden light.
Plato and the rationalists thought mathematically and it became a great success over time. Mathematics was developed further and became more and more advanced and difficult. Modern natural science was experimental, but developed further with mathematical formulas that made it easier to understand, so modern technology was developed, so we got better tools that made it easier to cultivate the land and fish. Productivity increased and therefore we became more prosperous.
Like other physicists, he spoke of God as the first cause of all things, the cause of the Big Bang. That does not necessarily mean that he intervened and did something more later, that could be deism. But biologists believe that life started with a cell in the ocean and often call it the Big Bang of life, so we have good reason to believe and imagine that God was behind that too. Life evolved into more and more advanced species and the theory of evolution explains it by saying that it is the most well-adapted that survives, life is a struggle for existence and the one who wins the struggle survives and reproduces the most. Presumably, evolution will continue towards more advanced species, so humans will develop to become stronger, smarter and more advanced. But if you think this theory replaces belief in God, who is going to implement it, is it you who with your knowledge replaces him, so you are going to implement it or are you going to get other people to try to do it? It is the fall again and it leads to the downfall of civilization.
But the salvation is that God raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in heaven, as his Son and his Messiah and King of kings. Our salvation is to turn to him.
I claim and believe that natural science is in harmony with the creation account, including the scientific part of the theory of evolution, which is also natural philosophy and a hypothesis that is not experimentally substantiated. The creation accounts are also natural philosophy and later in the Bible we find a lot of natural philosophy that gives us good answers to life’s many questions. God spoke and it happened, he commanded and it was so, then we probably think that he created something new instantaneously, like a God of wonders. But I also think that he created over a long period of time, through a long development. This is how it had to be if it was to fit with the theory of evolution. So this is how he created humans in his image (Gen. 1).
What about the second creation account, about Adam and Eve? I imagine that it tells of how God created humans from generation to generation. At the fall they tried to idolize themselves with their own knowledge, but then they fell out of it and no longer understood it. God continued to create them from generation to generation, so kingdoms arose and fell, and it was as if creation, the fall and judgment were history repeating itself. So also with Israel, the land was conquered and they were taken away to Babylonia.
If you, as a biology professional, say what you think and really mean, it may well be that your friends will be afraid of you. But who should we really fear? According to the ancient sages, it was wisdom to fear the Lord, to know the Holy One was understanding.
S.Ordt.9,10 10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is prudence.
In his old days Moses spoke to the people and said that they should be children of God, he warned them against rebelling, but he considered it probable, almost like a prophecy. He spoke as if he were speaking to heaven and earth, the land they had entered, nature, yes, this was nature philosophy then.
Deuteronomy32,1 Hear, O ye heavens, the things I speak, let the earth give ear to the words of my mouth.
2 Let my doctrine gather as the rain, let my speech distil as the dew, as a shower upon the herb, and as drops upon the grass.
3 Because I will invoke the name of the Lord: give ye magnificence to our God.
4 The works of God are perfect, and all his ways are judgments: God is faithful and without any iniquity, he is just and right.
5 They have sinned against him, and are nose of his children in their filth: they are a wicked and perverse generation.
6 Is this the return thou makest to the Lord, O foolish and senseless people? Is not he thy father, that hath possessed thee, and made thee, and created thee?
If they grew up as God’s children, would they not be gods? But how did it happen? Under King David, Israel became a great nation and in his time the psalmist Asaph said that God stands in the “assembly of the gods” and judges.
Psalm.82,1 God hath stood in the congregation of gods: and being in the midst of them he judgeth gods.
2 How long will you judge unjustly: and accept the persons of the wicked?
3 Judge for the needy and fatherless: do justice to the humble and the poor.
4 Rescue the poor; and deliver the needy out of the hand of the sinner.
5 They have not known nor understood: they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth shall be moved.
6 I have said: You are gods and all of you the sons of the most High.
7 But you like men shall die: and shall fall like one of the princes.
8 Arise, O God, judge thou the earth: for thou shalt inherit among all the nations.
Later, Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, conquered the land and carried them away as slaves. The same was true of their small neighbors. The king of Tyre was wise, rich, and powerful, but when he faced his murderers, would he say that he was a god? (Ezekiel.28,9). Nebuchadnezzar had to fight hard against Tyre, but in the end he was able to take the city. This is how the Phoenician culture fell, they were masters of the sea, but the Babylonians took over the trade.
Under the Persian king Cyrus they were allowed to return to their land and the same applied to the other peoples. This is a model of the gospel of Christ, which was to be preached to all nations. God loved the world so much that he sent his Son, the only begotten, so that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). Jesus told the Jews that he was the Son of God, but the Jewish leaders wanted to stone him because they thought he was trying to make himself like God. But Jesus then referred to Psalm 82:6 (John 10:34-39).
When they later arrested him and tried him, he stopped answering them. For him it was the Lamb of God who took away the sin of the world and was sacrificed as a sin offering for the sins of the whole world. They killed him and buried him, but God raised him from the dead and declared him to be the Son of God.
Rom.1:PAUL, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,
2 Which he had promised before, by his prophets, in the holy scriptures,
3 Concerning his Son, who was made to him of the seed of David, according to the flesh,
4 Who was predestinated the Son of God in power, according to the spirit of sanctification, by the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead;
Jesus died on the cross for us, conquering the world, the devil, and the powers of the wicked. He also conquered death. He conquered for us, so that when we believe in him and accept him as our Savior and Lord, his victory becomes our victory too, so that we may conquer with him. Then we no longer need to fear.
Col. 2:11 In whom also you are circumcised with circumcision not made by hand, in despoiling of the body of the flesh, but in the circumcision of Christ:
12 Buried with him in baptism, in whom also you are risen again by the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him up from the dead.
13 And you, when you were dead in your sins, and the uncircumcision of your flesh; he hath quickened together with him, forgiving you all offences:
14 Blotting out the handwriting of the decree that was against us, which was contrary to us. And he hath taken the same out of the way, fastening it to the cross:
15 And despoiling the principalities and powers, he hath exposed them confidently in open shew, triumphing over them in himself.
1 John 4:7 Dearly beloved, let us love one another, for charity is of God. And every one that loveth, is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is charity.
9 By this hath the charity of God appeared towards us, because God hath sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we may live by him.
10 In this is charity: not as though we had loved God, but because he hath first loved us, and sent his Son to be a propitiation for our sins.
11 My dearest, if God hath so loved us; we also ought to love one another.
12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abideth in us, and his charity is perfected in us.
13 In this we know that we abide in him, and he in us: because he hath given us of his spirit.
14 And we have seen, and do testify, that the Father hath sent his Son to be the Saviour of the world.
15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abideth in him, and he in God.
16 And we have known, and have believed the charity, which God hath to us. God is charity: and he that abideth in charity, abideth in God, and God in him.
17 In this is the charity of God perfected with us, that we may have confidence in the day of judgment: because as he is, we also are in this world. 18 Fear is not in charity: but perfect charity casteth out fear, because fear hath pain. And he that feareth, is not perfected in charity.
19 Let us therefore love God, because God first hath loved us.
Aristotle is called the father of logic, but he made a fundamental mistake. Compare with the “wire-gate” in the 2026 Football World Cup.
Aristotle is called the father of logic, but he made the mistake of using it on few physical objects instead of using it only on ideas. In the 13th century, the Catholic Church accepted his teachings and that is what made them fight against the pioneers of the new natural science.
Aristotle adhered to the doctrine of the four elements; earth, water, air and fire. If a thing is not affected by a force, it will return to where it belongs, earth falls to earth, water rains down and collects in rivers that flow into lakes and the sea. Air rises like bubbles in water. But what about fire, it does not stay still in a burned area instead it spreads further. This was not particularly well thought out and it is strange that it would take nearly 2000 years before it was disproven, but it probably had something to do with religion and moral philosophy.
When the goalkeeper kicks the ball out, a force acts from his foot on the ball when touched, when it ended the ball should, according to Aristotle, fall vertically to the ground. Or he must have had a different understanding of what force is, in any case he is wrong. Could the ball perhaps have an internal driving force that drove it forward? When would it end? When the ball hit the ground? But it would then bounce up and continue forward!
And could the ball perhaps suddenly lose some of its force, so that the trajectory reaches a breaking point and the ball falls down much earlier than if it followed the original trajectory?
God called out the tribes.
The Persian king Cyrus is the only Gentile in the old covenant who was called God’s anointed (Isa.45:1). Under him, the people of Israel returned to their land and the same applied to their small neighboring peoples who had also been taken away. Thus, with his policy, he became a model of Christ and his good news, which was to be preached to all people, peoples and nations. And God explained it by saying that he was the one who called out the people. It reminds me of when he went to the Garden of Eden and called out to Adam. He had a purpose for it, of course, but Adam and Eve hid away with a bad conscience.
Isa.41,1LET the islands keep silence before me, and the nations take new strength: let them come near, and then speak, let us come near to judgment together.
2 Who hath raised up the just one from the east, hath called him to follow him? he shall give the nations in his sight, and he shall rule over kings: he shall give them as the dust to his sword, as stubble driven by the wind, to his bow.
3 He shall pursue them, he shall pass in peace, no path shall appear after his feet.
4 Who hath wrought and done these things, calling the generations from the beginning? I the Lord, I am the first and the last.
5 The islands saw it, and feared, the ends of the earth were astonished, they drew near, and came.
Isaiah prophesied that God would do something new and asked them if they did not notice it.
Isa.43,18 Remember not former things, and look not on things of old.
19 Behold I do new things, and now they shall spring forth, verily you shall know them: I will make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
20 The beast of the field shall glorify me, the dragons and the ostriches: because I have given waters in the wilderness, rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, to my chosen.
21 This people have I formed for my- self, they shall shew forth my praise.
22 But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob, neither hast thou laboured about me, O Israel.
23 Thou hast not offered me the ram of thy holocaust, nor hast thou glorified me with thy victims: I have not caused thee to serve with oblations, nor wearied thee with incense.
It was a prophecy about Christ, even though he came about 700 years later. He came as manna from heaven, he was the bread of life that came down from heaven to give life to the world. The word he spoke was spirit and life (John 6:63). He is the last Adam, who is from heaven and who has become a life-giving spirit for us. So he is the one who cultivates and protects God’s garden for time and eternity. Everyone who received him he gave the right to be God’s child, in order to see God’s kingdom and enter it we must repent and be like children, yes, born again, born of the water of life and the Spirit of God and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.
On the foundation of the gospel, we are built as spiritual stones into a spiritual temple.
1.Pet.2,Wherefore laying away all malice, and all guile, and dissimulations, and envies, and all detractions,
2 As newborn babes, desire the rational milk without guile, that thereby you may grow unto salvation:
3 If so be you have tasted that the Lord is sweet.
4 Unto whom coming, as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen and made honourable by God:
5 Be you also as living stones built up, a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Wherefore it is said in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious. And he that shall believe in him, shall not be confounded.
7 To you therefore that believe, he is honour: but to them that believe not, the stone which the builders rejected, the same is made the head of the corner:
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of scandal, to them who stumble at the word, neither do believe, whereunto also they are set.
9 But you are a chosen generation, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a purchased people: that you may declare his virtues, who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
This is how Jesus’ church is built up as his bride, it is after the example of God creating the woman from the man’s sidebone and bringing her to him, so that they would be one flesh, so that she would be a help that suited for him.
2.Kor.11,2 For I am jealous of you with the jealousy of God. For I have espoused you to one husband that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
3 But I fear lest, as the serpent seduced Eve by his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted, and fall from the simplicity that is in Christ.
God spoke his Word and it happened, he commanded and it was there. But God’s Word is also like seed that God sows in our hearts, so that it will sprout and grow and grow up and produce full ears. Life was planted in us by God’s Word and it must grow.
Jak.1,21 Wherefore casting away all uncleanness, and abundance of naughtiness, with meekness receive the ingrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
So we are God’s farmland and God’s building. At the same time, we are God’s co-workers, who build on the foundation of the gospel, who plant and water. But God gives growth.
1.Kor.3,5 The ministers of him whom you have believed; and to every one as the Lord hath given.
6 I have planted, Apollo watered, but God gave the increase.
7 Therefore, neither he that planteth is any thing, nor he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
8 Now he that planteth, and he that watereth, ate one. And every man shall receive his own reward, according to his own labour.
9 For we are God’s coadjutors: you are God’s husbandry; you are God’s building.
Just as God created the woman from the man’s side and brought her to him, so that they would be one flesh, so Jesus’ church is his bride, his body, of which he is the head and we are to grow up into him who is the head.
Ef.4,9 Now that he ascended, what is it, but because he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.
11 And he gave some apostles, and some prophets, and other some evangelists, and other some pastors and doctors,
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Until we all meet into the unity of faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the age of the fulness of Christ;
14 That henceforth we be no more children tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the wickedness of men, by cunning craftiness, by which they lie in wait to deceive
15 But doing the truth in charity, we may in all things grow up in him who is the head, even Christ:
16 From whom the whole body, being compacted and fitly joined together, by what every joint supplieth, according to the operation in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body, unto the edifying of itself in charity.
This also has to do with the fact that boys and girls mature into grown people, men and women, into couples who get married and become husband and wife, have a house and home, children and family life, are able to provide for their children and give them a raise. So they grow up as children of God, whom he loves and cares for.
Cultivate and protect God’s garden.
But when we look at all the suffering, need and pain that is on earth, both in animals and humans, then if there is a God, why doesn’t he intervene and do something about it? Shouldn’t we expect him to care for what he has created? Yes, that is exactly what the Bible says, God created humans in his image and then he put them to cultivate and protect the garden that he had planted. They could feed themselves by harvesting the fruits of the garden, with the exception of the fruit of the tree of knowledge, so this also gave meaning to cultivating it, but cultivating and protecting the garden was more than just growing what they could feed themselves on.
Gen.2,8 And the Lord God had planted a paradise of pleasure from the beginning: wherein he placed man whom he had formed.
9 And the Lord God brought forth of the ground all manner of trees, fair to behold, and pleasant to eat of: the tree of life also in the midst of paradise: and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
……….
15 And the Lord God took man, and put him into the paradise for pleasure, to dress it, and keep it.
16 And he commanded him, saying: Of every tree of paradise thou shalt eat:
17 But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat. for in what day soever thou shalt eat of it, thou shalt die the death.
But after the flood, he allowed them to feed on fish and animals as well.
Gen.9,And God blessed Noe and his sons. And he said to them: Increase and multiply, and fill the earth.
2 And let the fear and dread of you be upon all the beasts of the earth, and upon all the fowls of the air, and all that move upon the earth: all the fishes of the sea are delivered into your hand.
3 And every thing that moveth and liveth shall be meat for you: even as the green herbs have I delivered them all to you:
4 Saving that flesh with blood you shall not eat.
5 For I will require the blood of your lives at the hand of every beast, and at the hand of man, at the hand of every man, and of his brother, will I require the life of man.
6 Whosoever shall shed man’s blood, his blood shall be shed: for man was made to the image of God.
7 But increase you and multiply, and go upon the earth, and fill it.
8 This also said God to Noe, and to his sons with him,
9 Behold I will establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you:
10 And with every living soul that is with you, as well in all birds as in cattle and beasts of the earth, that are come forth out of the ark, and in all the beasts of the earth.
11 I will establish my covenant with you, and all flesh shall be no more destroyed with the waters of a flood, neither shall there be from henceforth a flood to waste the earth.
12 And God said: This is the sign of the covenant which I will give between me and you, and to every living soul that is with you, for perpetual generations.
13 I will set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be the sign of a covenant between me, and between the earth.
14 And when I shall cover the sky with clouds, my bow shall appear in the clouds:
15 And I will remember my covenant with you, and with every living soul that beareth flesh: and there shall no more be waters of a flood to destroy all flesh.
16 And the bow shall be in the clouds, and I shall see it, and shall remember the everlasting covenant, that was made between God and every living soul of all flesh which is upon the earth.
17 And God said to Noe: This shall be the sign of the covenant which I have established between me and all flesh upon the earth.
If we can slaughter animals and fish, cook, fry and eat, but are not allowed to kill humans, will there not be overpopulation, so that we exterminate other species? How can we then cultivate and protect God’s garden? Since God had appointed humans to cultivate and protect God’s garden, they understood that they had to let the animals grow and multiply, so in agriculture it happened that they also fed the livestock and let them grow and multiply. There were special plants they wanted to grow, such as grain, and then it happened that during the agricultural revolution many plant species were extinct.
Noah’s Ark became a symbol of the new covenant, with salvation in Christ. He is the last Adam, so he is the one who cultivates and protects God’s garden for time and eternity.
Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness. God blessed him and promised him that in his seed all nations would be blessed, those who bless him would be blessed, but those who curse him would be cursed. This promise is fulfilled in Christ. He is the seed to whom the promise applies. God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. Both the Father and the Son knew that they should betray him, but it also happened that he was the Lamb of God who bore the sin of the world and was sacrificed as a sin offering.
But first it was through Abraham having his son Isaac with Sarah, as was promised. God wanted to test his faith and said that he should sacrifice him and Abraham passed the test, he showed that he believed God could raise him from the dead, but was given a lamb to sacrifice instead. This is a foreshadowing of Christ being the Lamb of God who bore the sin of the world and was sacrificed as a sin offering (Gen. 22, Heb. 11:17-19).
The people of Israel lived in Egypt for 400 years and became many, then God called Moses to lead them out of there, towards the promised land and on the way in the wilderness he gave them the Mosaic Law with the priesthood, on the great Day of Atonement the high priest was to offer a sin offering both for himself and for the people. It could be a lamb or an ox, which was slaughtered.
But after they had entered the promised land, they began to turn away from him and worship the idols of the people around them, so they even began with human sacrifice, for example killing them and sacrificing their children to idols. God punished them for their apostasy by sentencing them to death and then it also became a human sacrifice.
This was also shown by their demand for Christ to be crucified and by their demand for the persecution of Christianity. One explanation for this is that the Poor Shepherd shepherded the sheep for the sheep merchants and even sold the Lord, but then it was Christ who was the Good Shepherd who laid down his life for the sheep (Zech.11 & John 10).
Jesus’ sin offering was good enough for us all, his work of salvation is complete and perfect, it is only for us to accept in faith. There are many who reject it, but notice that then they often demand some form of human sacrifice instead, preferably through war. Yes, but then God can certainly make it his feast of sacrifice and invite his guests.
Rev.19,17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that did fly through the midst of heaven: Come, gather yourselves together to the great supper of God:
A male animal and a female animal of each kind were saved in Noah’s Ark, so the species were saved. And then a few people were saved, like this is the salvation in Christ and the new covenant.
1.Pet.3,18 Because Christ also died once for our sins, the just for the unjust: that he might offer us to God, being put to death indeed in the flesh, but enlivened in the spirit,
19 In which also coming he preached to those spirits that were in prison:
20 Which had been some time incredulous, when they waited for the patience of God in the days of Noe, when the ark was a building: wherein a few, that is, eight souls, were saved by water.
21 Whereunto baptism being of the like form, now saveth you also: not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the examination of a good conscience towards God by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
22 Who is on the right hand of God, swallowing down death, that we might be made heirs of life everlasting: being gone into heaven, the angels and powers and virtues being made subject to him.
Jesus is the way to the Father, when we walk that way, we get to experience the Father’s love and care, we get to enter the Father’s house and there is a party.
Joh.14,LET not your heart be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father’s house there are many mansions. If not, I would have told you: because I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I shall go, and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will take you to myself; that where I am, you also may be.
4 And whither I go you know, and the way you know.
5 Thomas saith to him: Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me.
7 If you had known me, you would without doubt have known my Father also: and from henceforth you shall know him, and you have seen him.
As Jesus’ church, we are presented to him as his bride, so there is also a wedding feast (Matt.22,1….).
Since I was a boy I have asked Jesus to give me a saved woman as a lover and wife and he loves me, so he will give it to me, he is the one who takes care of my case, so I will come to him with it, he takes care of my case as his case, because he gives me a saved woman to wife and that is connected with his church being presented to him as a pure bride.
End of slave society?! So what’s new?
Freedom in the promised land.
God called Moses to lead his people, to free them from slavery under the idols in Egypt and lead them to the promised land, flowing with milk and honey, where they were to be his people and he was to be their God. After much ruling with occasional rebellions, it took time, so it was Joshua who got to finish it by leading the people into the promised land. It was and should be so fruitful that ideally no one should be poor and no one should be slaves. Just as well, they could not rule out that it could go so badly financially with someone that they became slaves. But according to the inheritance law they were then to be freed from slavery after seven sabbatical years, 49 years in other words, that was the year of liberation, then they were to be given back their inherited land (Leviticus.25,13). This is applied to the gospel as preaching a freegiving year (Luk.4,18).
Luk.4,18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me. Wherefore he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal the contrite of heart,
19 To preach deliverance to the captives, and sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of reward.
The mentality of slave society, argument for slavery.
The mentality in the slave society seems to be that most people are too stupid and too bad to think independently and too helpless to support themselves, therefore they need someone to rule over them, such as slave drivers and dictatorial powers. Some considered it regrettable, so they wanted to try to teach the people something better, Platonism can likely be understood that way. But were they able to do that with their teaching? No, not completely, but fortunately Christianity came as a perfect answer to Platonism and there were people who accepted it and learned and were able to teach others. Christianity did not call for rebellion either against the authorities or the slave drivers, just as well as it was a liberating message. But others considered it as fortunate that people were too stupid to learn, so it was easier for them to gain power over them and secure their power. That is why they opposed the Christian preaching.
It can also be said that the poor and uneducated had problems finding meaning in life. But those who wanted to use them as slaves saw meaning in it and set them in motion to do something that the slave drivers saw meaning and value in. And then they used religion to give it an overriding meaning.
God has revealed his salvation to me in Christ.
Jesus comes to us, reveals himself to us and takes up residence with us.
I grew up in the church and attended Christian meeting houses from an early age and my mother taught me to pray my evening prayer, which was to invoke Christ as our savior and Lord, ask him to save our loved ones and pray like this for the people and the country and then pray the Lord’s Prayer. When I was 9 years old, I understood that salvation was the opposite of being fooled and seduced as in the fall, so I began to ask Jesus to save people from that, as the first priority and then ask him to give me a saved woman for a lover and wife as a second priority. Then I noticed that he was close to me, so I came to know him as my best friend, it was as it is written that the Lord is a shadow at my right hand.
When I went to secondary school, I noticed that the love relationship between Christ and his bride (Church) was born in me by the Holy Spirit, so for me it applied to the love relationship between man and woman.
When I started high school, I started reading more in the Bible myself and then I noticed that it agreed with Paul’s words that Jesus is the head of the man and the man is the head of the woman and so Christ is the head of the church which is his bride. And we shall grow up to him who is the head. Paul based this both on the basis of the story of creation in Genesis 2, the fall into sin and salvation in Christ. Since he based it on the basis of creationism, I thought that it was consistent with biology as well and that the theory of development was largely consistent with creationism. Then there was much we needed to gain clarity about, but Christ is God’s Word, he is God’s answer to us, so when God reveals his salvation to us in Christ, we get and have the right answer.
I became somewhat familiar with a Christian girl whom I call Virtuella, she played the guitar and praised Christ as her savior and Lord. She loves Christ, as the bride loves her bridegroom. I liked that and I noticed that I started to like her, but I was afraid of being disappointed, so I knelt by the bed in the dormitory and prayed about it and confessed to God that his love was between us and it was right, regardless of whether she wanted to say yes or no to my proposal. With that recognition, I opened myself even more to this love and received a new fullness of the Holy Spirit. I experienced it as a spiritual revelation, that she was born of the Spirit and what is born of the Spirit is spirit, she was in God’s hand and he placed her in my heart. It made me feel so good and I was so happy for her. I got to see her more from God’s perspective, as the wonderful child whom he loved and cared for and I was so in love with her.
Rom.5,5 And hope confoundeth not: because the charity of God is poured forth in our hearts, by the Holy Ghost, who is given to us.
In the hautumn of 1984, I started studying science at the University of Oslo. I went to meetings in the Free Evangelical Assembly at Møllergata 40 (dFEF M40). In the autumn of 1985, Jesus said to me: “The song of praise I put into you, it is yours and it shall be yours forever, deep in you it is. And the pact you entered into with me, it stands and will stand forever.” It reminds me of how I prayed for Virtuella when I was in high school. It was primarily a prayer of thanksgiving, thanking Jesus for saving me and her.
Later, Jesus spoke to me about it as a dream he gave me and which he wanted me to take forward and dream big with him. Quote from https://blessings-from-heaven.com/2026/07/17/31-8-2024-jesu-gave-me-a-dream-and-want-me-to-dream-it-again-with-him-and-he-will-implement-it/ :
31.8.2024. Jesu gave me a dream and want me to dream it again, with him and he will implement it.
Prophetic message by Elin Therese Slotten:
“You have dreamed big with me, my child. There was a time when you accepted the call I placed in your spirit. I put dreams and longings in your heart and I gave you pictures of what was to come. You held onto it and dreamed about it for a long time. But then one day you gave up the calling and put a lid on what was once given to you. Time passed and you never saw what you dreamed of. And you thought it was just a dream that will never come true. But my child, that dream was given to you by me. It wasn’t just from your own heart. You may have forgotten and put a lid on it, but I haven’t. You will harvest if you just don’t give up and get discouraged. I call you today to believe me again. Take out what was once given to you and dream big with me. Don’t give up and don’t lose heart because it’s yours. I gave you visions of my purpose and plan for your life and it will never be taken from you. I am able to put it into action. I am capable of doing far more than you ask of me and can understand. You are called and you are still mine! Even if the dream takes longer than you thought it would, that doesn’t mean I’m not faithful to make it happen. Let me do my work in you and trust me. When you ask for anything that is according to my will, it will be given to you.”
END OF QUOTATION.
Jesus said that we should believe in him and stick to his word and love one another, then he would come and reveal himself to us, he and the Father would come and take up residence with us.
Joh.15,15 If you love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will ask the Father, and he shall give you another Paraclete, that he may abide with you for ever.
17 The spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, nor knoweth him: but you shall know him; because he shall abide with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you orphans, I will come to you.
19 Yet a little while: and the world seeth me no more. But you see me: because I live, and you shall live.
20 In that day you shall know, that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them; he it is that loveth me. And he that loveth me, shall be loved of my Father: and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
22 Judas saith to him, not the Iscariot: Lord, how is it, that thou wilt manifest thyself to us, and not to the world?
23 Jesus answered, and said to him: If any one love me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and will make our abode with him.
24 He that loveth me not, keepeth not my words. And the word which you have heard, is not mine; but the Father’s who sent me.
25 These things have I spoken to you, abiding with you.
26 But the Paraclete, the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring all things to your mind, whatsoever I shall have said to you.
I experienced this most strongly when I prayed for a girl I loved, then I think primarily of Virtuella and a girl I discovered at the University of Oslo in the autumn of 1988 and whom I have called Reella, since she studied biology.
By believing in Christ, we get to enter God’s rest, so we get to experience that he takes care of his children and the work of his hands.
By believing in Christ, we can enter God’s rest, it is on the basis that God has completed his work of creation and on the basis that Jesus’ work of salvation has been completed and perfected. Then we get to experience that God cares for us as his children and so he cares for the work of his hands. This rest is the starting point for all service. Quote from interpretation of speaking in tongues in Betel Volda, the Free Evangelical Assembly, 12.11.2006, Quote from https://blessings-from-heaven.com/2026/07/17/12-11-2006-betel-volda-jesus-will-make-me-a-channel-for-his-blessings/ :
12.11.2006. Betel Volda. Jesus will make me a channel for his blessings.
I know exactly (how you feel) ……, so I first of all want to lift you up on my lap. I do not primarily ask what you can do for me, I do not demand that you serve me, I only wish and long for you to lean your head close to my heart, and be there on my lap, be there in my presence, this is the resting place that is the starting point for all service, this is the resting place where you can get new strength, here is healing for your wounded soul, here you can feel the promise that I want to give you by my hand, I lift you – lift you in your inner self and I lift you back to a life of dignity, for you are precious in my eyes. I didn’t take you on installments, I paid the whole price and it cost my own blood, therefore you will also feel that you will be able to lower your shoulders, you can relax, be my child, I who have said through my word, see how much love the Father has shown us, that we should be called children of God, and we are. You are my child, and as my child I will take care of you. Let me take care of my children and the work of my hands, says the Lord.
And because you are a child, you also have a share in inheritance rights, not only have I given you child rights, but I have also given you inheritance rights. You are the heir of my promises, you are the heir of the heavenly home. But you must know that also the glorious promises that apply to that – the glory that lies ahead, when you will one day see me as I am and become like me, those promises must be carefully fulfilled. But I have not only given you promises for what is to come, I have also given you promises for your journey towards this wonderful home. And I have given you promises to which you are also heir, promises that apply, right in the middle of the situation that may meet you in everyday life. When you feel the pressure, when you feel that the discouragement and worry will overwhelm you, then I want, says the Lord, that you will open your testament, and then you will get to read, both the old and the new, you will get to read it as an heir. You shall be allowed to read it and take it to heart, it is valid, says the Lord, for I who am the testator, I went to death, the will is valid, read it as the heir and let it lift you up, and let what you read be my strong hand that lifts you up and gives you new courage. I, who have given the promises that lie ahead, I have also given the promises that apply today. And you will notice that this is how you will be carried, this is how you will be lifted forward. And you will be allowed to throw what weighs you down on me. I will never let you go, I will never leave you. I am faithful all the way, all day, and every day, stay close to me. Hallelujah.
Kjell-Arve Tolås gave a speech on the theme “God’s arm is outstretched”, taken from Exodus 17,16.
At the end of the meeting, a young man spoke in tongues and Tollås interpreted it:
…I who sit on the throne, says the Lord, I have the overview, when you are in the middle of the trial, you see what will block the way, and you think the way is impassable, it is impassable. But you should know that I, who sit on the throne, have the full overview. And therefore you must be safe, you must leave your case in my hands. And you will get to experience along the way, exactly when you need it and in the way you need it and need it, so you will know again and again that a hand is exactly unreached from this throne.
This is not the throne of condemnation, it is not the throne of the great white judgement, but I sit on the throne of grace, says the Lord, and I have opened access to this throne by my own blood, so you will be able to step forward with boldness, and you will experience that when you step in, I will meet you with mercy and grace in help at the right time. I can come in my own way, by making my hand public, but most often I come in collaboration with one of mine, who has taken refuge in me, I remind them of intercession, I remind them of a visit, I remind them of an encouraging word, I remind them to also come to meet you in such a way that you get to experience the laying on of hands and get to experience the warmth of you. It is I who meet you in that way as well, through mine. And you will also be allowed to be a tool for me, through which I will work, so that my power also flows through your weak hands, for help and deliverance. Do not let your hands sink into discouragement and despair. You are a member of my body, and I will use you, I will use you as a channel for my blessing and you will be the bearer of my glory. And then you will get to experience that I, who am on the throne, have the full overview, and you will get to be safe, secure in my almighty hands. So be bold. Amen. Amen. In Jesus name.
Betel Volda, Sunday 12.11.06. At 6 p.m.
It was Father’s Day and it was my birthday, I was 49 years old.
END OF QUOTATION.
Be God’s co-worker, witness about Jesus and experience God’s power.
I started studying science in Oslo in the fall of 1984. At the same time, I went to a meeting in the Free Evangelical Congregation at Møllergata 40 in Oslo. Since I was young, I had asked Jesus to give me a saved woman as my lover and wife, and he had answered me that he was the one who would take care of my case, so that I should come to him with it. Therefore, I had contacted the leadership of this church about it and wrote to them about it, but it was Christ who answered me, both through speech and interpretation of speak in tongues, as before. I wrote something about when I was studying science, I understood it, but found it difficult to remember it. Then he answered me, through interpretation of tongues, something like this: “It is I who do my work with you, see, this you shall remember”. Yes, when he instituted the Lord’s Supper, he said that we should do this in remembrance of him. He is the bread of life, the bread that came down, like manna from heaven, to give life to the world. We are to share it among ourselves and eat it, so that we may live by it. The word that he has spoken to us is spirit and life. Since we eat the same bread, we are and will become one in him.
Well, so I saw it this way that when I studied science, it was not just me who did my work, but he who did his work and that was most fundamental. It was like at the creation in Genesis 2, God did his work with the man, so that he even created the woman from his sidebone and brought her to him, so that they would be one flesh and she would be a helper who suited for him. But now Christ is the last Adam, who is from heaven and who for us has become a life-giving spirit. God creates us in him and then he creates us in his image, he creates us male and female (Genesis 1), but Christ is the husband and his church is his wife.
In the fall of 2008, Jesus called me to go with the joyful and liberating message, to do the works that he had prepared for me, I would experience that on the inner level I was his co-worker. So in January 2009 I went to Oslo and began practical pedagogical teaching at the University of Oslo.
I would experience that on the inner level I was his co-worker, then I could certainly expect that on the inner level he would give me help in the form of a wife, by saving her and giving her spirit and life and making her alive with him, that is. I had basically been expecting this for a long time and I believed and thought that on the inner level I would also experience it, but as a co-worker of Christ I would then have to be allowed to use the help he gave me, by bringing her to me physically as well, so that she would be of help to me as my wife. Yes, I should now be able to expect that from now on?!
Go in ready-made works, with a liberating message.
In a message that came in the fall of 2008, Jesus spoke of the word that I have taken into my mouth, it is spirit and life and it is a liberating message, I believe it was intended that I have spoken and written so many times about Paul’s teaching that Christ is the head of man and the man is the head of his wife and in this way Jesus is the head of the church, which is his bride. He called me to go with this liberating message and I should experience that on the inner level I was his co-worker. Quote from
There were two Bible texts in particular that I had been thinking about lately, and when I got into the car and was about to drive to the meeting, I told myself and God that I could well imagine reading these two texts at the meeting, if there was a chance for free testimony, but I also said that it was a bit much to bring up in a regular testimony meeting.
My presentation/testimony.
When the preacher, Arnstein Andersen, entered the lectern, he opened for free testimony first. I went forward and read from the following chapter:
1. Cor.3,5 5 The ministers of him whom you have believed; and to every one as the Lord hath given.
10 According to the grace of God that is given to me, as a wise architect, I have laid the foundation; and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation no man can lay, but that which is laid; which is Christ Jesus.
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation, gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble:
13 Every man’s work shall be manifest; for the day of the Lord shall declare it, because it shall be revealed in fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work, of what sort it is.
14 If any man’s work abide, which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man’s work burn, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire.
16 Know you not, that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you ?
17 But if any man violate the temple of God, him shall God destroy. For the temple of God is holy, which you are.
18 Let no man deceive himself: if any man among you seem to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written: I will catch the wise in their own craftiness.
20 And again: The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
21 Let no man therefore glory in men.
22 For all things are yours, whether it be Paul, or Apollo, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to some; for all are yours;
23 And you are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s.
Eccl.3,1 All things have their season, and in their times all things pass under heaven.
2 A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted.
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal. A time to destroy, and a time to build.
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh. A time to mourn, and a time to dance.
5 A time to scatter stones, and a time to gather. A time to embrace, and a time to be far from embraces.
6 A time to get, and a time to lose. A time to keep, and a time to cast away.
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew. A time to keep silence, and a time to speak.
8 A time of love, and a time of hatred. A time of war, and a time of peace.
9 What hath man more of his labour?
10 I have seen the trouble, which God hath given the sons of men to be exercised in it.
11 He hath made all things good in their time, and hath delivered the world to their consideration, so that man cannot flnd out the work which God hath made from the beginning to the end.
12 And I have known that there was no better thing than to rejoice, and to do well in this life.
13 For every man that eateth and drinketh, and seeth good of his labour, this is the gift of God.
14 I have learned that all the works which God hath made, continue for ever: we cannot add any thing, nor take away from those things which God hath made that he may be feared.
In 1 Cor. 3 I did not include verses 5 and 18-23. I just said that it is about wisdom and Solomon was a wise man and then I started reading from Ecclesiastes, where I skipped verses 5-8. There was a lot that Solomon had managed to build, but we know how it went, it was all demolished, and Jesus said that there would not be left one stone upon another and that was after the temple had been rebuilt. It is possible that Solomon saw it in his mind how it would go, a time to build, a time to tear down, everything is futile, but then he also said that God had put eternity in the human heart and everything God does lasts forever, we can add nothing or take nothing away. We all have our daily struggles, what we struggle with, will eventually all perish, but God’s Word is eternal and the work God does with his. Jesus has said that he is with us. We are God’s fellow workers and then we must cooperate. When we build on the foundation with wood, hay and straw, it will be consumed by the fire, it will perish, but when we build with gold, silver and precious stones, it will stand, it symbolizes the eternal. And Solomon said that the work that God does stands forever.
Speech by Arnstein.
Then Arnstein spoke about the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives and read from John 14 & 16. He also read 1.Ti.4,12-14 and said that we all have a gift of grace to take care of.
1.Ti,4,12 Let no man despise thy youth: but be thou an example of the faithful in word, in conversation, in charity, in faith, in chastity.
13 Till I come, attend unto reading, to exhortation, and to doctrine.
14 Neglect not the grace that is in thee, which was given thee by prophesy, with imposition of the hands of the priesthood.
Message through interpretation of speech in tongues.
At the end of the meeting, he invited intercession and a woman came forward. Inger-Johanne Vik also came forward and helped pray for her and she spoke in tongues which the preacher interpreted. This was for the woman who was interceding and was somewhat low and difficult to hear. Mp3 recording.
Message 1:
“You must know that I love you. I touch you (not just in your body, I)? touch you (in your spirit)? spirit and you will experience …. that I am the Lord in your life. I will send people your way. You will be allowed to be an instrument for my spirit. …. the word that says you are redeemed, you are free, you are healed, yes, the word that I have spoken which is spirit and life, will do a work in man and you will experience and see that I who am the Lord your redeemer, I am also your healer. And you will be allowed to be an instrument for me, so be bold, trust in the Word, do not trust in your understanding or the wisdom of men. But let the Word be allowed to be the guideline for your life. And you will experience and know that I work a miracle…. Be bold.”
Then Inger-Johanne came with speech in tongues again, which the speaker interpreted from the pulpit and I understood it as an answer to what I had said, Mp3 recording:
Message 2:
The word I have spoken and the word that you have surrounded yourself with, and used and taken into your mouth for many years, it is spirit and it is life. The word that I have spoken, says the Lord, speaks what it says. It redeems people, it sets the afflicted free, it creates freedom and health and wellness and salvation, where it comes forth and is received. And you will experience it, my child, that when you enter into my word again, when you enter into the foundation of the word, says the Lord, and begin to move in the Holy Spirit, you will experience that the power is the same as it was in your youth. You have long been discouraged, says the Lord, you have long been discouraged and lived a withdrawn existence, in relation to going into ready-made deeds, but you should know that he who waits on the Lord and trusts in him will receive new strength. And you will experience moving as in ancient times, you will be allowed to feel that your heart runs like a deer. You will be allowed to experience that you are on the inner level in partnership with me, says the Lord. And you will see wonderful things, says the Lord, when you are willing to walk on the path that I set out for you. Man devises his own way, but the Lord directs its course. And you will experience that when the Word is allowed to speak through you and move you, says the Lord, then you will see that wonders and signs also happen in your midst. I am who I have said I am and I have made myself dependent on man, man who is obedient, man who does not care about his own, but who is willing to walk in the Holy Spirit. You shall be allowed to know that my word is spirit and it is life and there is healing where it goes forth. Be bold and put on the strength that I have given you. You are forced to start moving yourself, says the Lord, that is clear to you. But I am waiting for you to start moving and I will be with you, says the Lord. It will be I who carry you, says the Lord, you will stop walking around blindly and carry me, I will carry you. You shall be allowed to know that I am the one I have spoken in my own word. I am a shadow at your right hand and my word shall be the word that you speak. And you shall be allowed to know and experience that there is life and there is an abundance of life. Amen.
Comment.
The Word of God is like a seed that He sows in our hearts, so that it will grow and bear fruit. When the Word merges with us in our hearts by faith, we can enter into God’s rest (Heb.3-4). We become like seeds that He sows in the world, so that it will grow and bear fruit. This is how it is His field. We can be God’s co-workers, but the most fundamental thing is that God does His work, through His Word and His Spirit and creates something perfect that will last forever.
Life was planted in us by the Word of God and it will grow, so that we grow up to Him who is the head of the body, which is the church of Jesus, his bride.
Eph.4,9 Now that he ascended, what is it, but because he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.
11 And he gave some apostles, and some prophets, and other some evangelists, and other some pastors and doctors,
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Until we all meet into the unity of faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the age of the fulness of Christ;
14.6.2009. Maranatha Oslo. God´s Spirit makes alive what the blood of Jesus has given me. Don´t become slaves for humans.
Interpretation of speech in tongues:
“Salvation is a gift, salvation is the outstretched hand of God. Salvation is accomplished and the bridge over the very abyss is built, it is built solidly, thoroughly, the foundation holds in life and in death. And it is founded on eternal promises, it is founded on an eternal existence. Therefore, you need not fear anything, for the foundation has been laid. The rock has been cracked. (Yes, here everything breaks out)? what humanity needs. I was beaten, mistreated, crushed for all your iniquities, for all your diseases. Instead of judgment, you shall receive grace, instead of perdition, you will receive heaven, instead of death, you will receive life and abundance. Come today and take of the water of life without any fault, you will receive it by grace alone.
You do not have to be bent down, but you can lift your gaze upward. For the blood from my wounds gives you salvation – the blood creates and gives you redemption from all condemnation. The cleansing power of the blood brings you over and into fellowship with me, says the Lord. You do not have to go there without peace and hope and a future. Through my shed blood, death has taken place for redemption from the judgment and guilt of sin, today there is grace, for the blood testifies, the blood speaks, the blood testifies of death, the blood speaks of grace. Therefore, come and accept my outstretched hand and I will pull you up and I will set you over in my kingdom.
Do not let man give you slavery, do not become a slave to man. But behold, the blood sets you free. My spirit makes alive what the blood has given you. Calvary tells us that instead of a curse, you receive a blessing. For I was cursed that you might be blessed. I died that you might have life and abundance. But I rose again that you might be clothed with my righteousness forever. And if you are clothed in my righteousness, then you are not afraid of what is in time, but you can lift your courage and gaze upward, and shine with joy, for I have redeemed you, set you free, called you by name, for you are mine for time and for eternity.”
I have asked Jesus to give me a saved woman as my wife and that is included in Jesus’ work of salvation and it is completed and perfect, in other words, it is the blood of Jesus that has given it to me and His Spirit makes alive what His blood has given me. Such is the Christian revival in general and such is it in particular since I have asked Jesus to give me a saved woman as my wife. I experience that I am on the inner level a co-worker of God, cultivating and protecting His garden, planting and watering, and then I experience that He awakens a woman to be of help to me as my wife.
Put on the full armor of God and go out and testify of Jesus. Maranatha 8.12.2013.
Speech by John Miland.
John said he had received a word from the Lord, which he wanted to share with us.
2.Kings.4,1 Now a certain woman of the wives of the prophets cried to Eliseus, saying: Thy servant my husband is dead, and thou knowest that thy servant was one that feared God, and behold the creditor is come to take away my two sons to serve him.
2 And Eliseus said to her: What wilt thou have me to do for thee? Tell me, what hast thou in thy house? And she answered: I thy handmaid have nothing in my house but a little oil, to anoint me.
3 And he said to her: Go, borrow of all thy neighbours empty vessels not a few.
4 And go in, and shut thy door, when thou art within, and thy sons: and pour out thereof into all those vessels: and when they are full take them away.
5 So the woman went, and shut the door upon her, and upon her sons: they brought her the vessels, and she poured in.
6 And when the vessels were full, she said to her son: Bring me yet a vessel. And he answered: I have no more. And the oil stood.
Tongues by Mari, interpretation by John:
“Yes, says the Lord, you shall know that I am the same yesterday, today and forever. As I was in the days of this widow, when I blessed her with oil, behold, I am the same today, says the Lord. If you will offer what you have and let me take care of it, let me be allowed to bless it, then you will see that it will be for many. For behold, nothing is impossible for me, is anything too difficult for me? No, says the Lord, it was I who created the heavens and the earth. It was I who spoke, and it was done, I commanded, and it stood. Behold, all things are upheld by the word of my power, says the Lord. Therefore, put your trust in me and rely on me through all things, says the Lord. For behold, I care for you.
I will shake this city again, says the Lord, with my power, you shall be astonished, says the Lord, when I reveal my power in the midst of you. For behold, my power is present and therefore I want you, my child, to seek me and to enter my armory. And I, the Lord, will equip you with the strength you need. And behold, people will be astonished when you speak my word and bring a greeting from me, then people will experience being saved. Yes, they will still come in sin distress and they will cry out to me for salvation, says the Lord. For behold, it is not you who shall convince men of sin and of judgment and of righteousness, I will do that by my Holy Spirit, says the Lord. I have sent it, that it may convict of sin and of judgment and of righteousness and when the Holy Spirit may reign among you and when it may fill you and it may fill the room, says the Lord, then I will say that sinners will fall on their knees and they will cry out to me for salvation. Amen. Hallelujah.”
END OF QUOTE.
The story of the widow with the oil jar reminded me of how our mother taught us to pray. According to the message, I was to go out and testify about Jesus. For example, I testified to a girl at the Biology Building at Blindern, University of Oslo, and told her that Jesus had said that I should seek him with all my heart, for the eyes of God run to and fro throughout the whole earth, so that he may with his power come to the aid of those whose hearts are completely devoted to him and so I expect that he will give me help in the form of a wife.
12.10.2014. Meeting in Maranatha. “Yes, says the Lord, I have said in my word, that you shall rejoice and be glad in my salvation. Delight yourself in me, says the Lord, and I will give you the desires of your heart.”
Introduction by John Miland.
HAB 3, 17 For the fig tree shall not blossom: and there shall be no spring in the vines. The labour of the olive tree shall fail: and the fields shall yield no food: the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls.
18 But I will rejoice in the Lord: and I will joy in God my Jesus.
19 The Lord God is my strength: and he will make my feet like the feet of harts: and he the conqueror will lead me upon my high places singing psalms.
If there is “bottom in the bucket,” in comparison with this, we can still look up to Jesus and rejoice in his salvation and praise him.
Speech by Terje.
Terje spoke about the cleansing in the blood of Jesus.
1JO 1,9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all iniquity.
Speaking in tongues by Mari, interpretation by John Miland:
“Yes, says the Lord, I have said in my word, that you shall rejoice and be glad in my salvation. Delight yourself in me, says the Lord, and I will give you the desires of your heart. Do not be concerned with what is around you, do not look to the right or to the left, but keep your eyes fixed on me, says the Lord. Be concerned with what is above. I have said in my word, if you are raised with me, then you will seek what is above. But one thing is necessary, says the Lord, that is to be filled with my Spirit, filled with my anointing and power at this time. For behold, the evil one is against you. But with my power and my anointing, you will overcome, more than overcome, says the Lord. For behold, the spirit that is in you is stronger than the one that is in the world.
Many are those in these days who look back and who are lagging behind on the road. Therefore, my children, you shall cry out to me and pray for them, that they may receive new strength and new courage and I will meet them again, says the Lord. For behold, there are many who are wounded, there are many who are in pain and suffering. But you, my children, you shall go out and comfort them. And you shall help them on the way, for I have said in my Word that the strong, those I owe to carry the weak. For behold, there are many weak among my people. But I, the Lord, desire to call them in these days and I, the Lord, will fill them with my anointing and power. And then the weak will say, I am a hero. For behold, it is only with my strength that you can win victory.
Yes, I will praise and exalt you, my Savior and Lord, because you have saved me, because you have written my name in the book of life. And I know that when you come, I will be with you. And I will be among the multitude that shall enter into the city with the secure foundations. Oh, how I long to see thee, whom my soul loveth. Amen.”

Poly-Ester.
I started studying biology in the fall of 2014. At a biology lecture I met a beautiful, blonde girl, she had a great body, and I felt strongly attracted to her body just as she walked past me. I confessed it to God in my prayer that night, and the following Sunday He said that I should thank Him for the finished work of salvation, and He would give me what my heart desires. Later I discovered that she was speaking an Eastern European language with another girl. I learned that it was Russian, because the other girl was from Russia. She was from Ukraine herself, and I call her Poly-Ester. Later I told him that I had spoken to Jesus about her, but then it seemed like she was afraid. But then I spoke to her in peace and quiet and told her a little about how Jesus answered my prayers, and that she herself could join in praying for herself and her people. It could have been important since they had a tense relationship with Russia. But as a student, she was busy, so there wasn’t much time for conversation.
