My prayer service is a priestly service.

My mother taught me to pray my evening prayer, it was to call upon Christ as our Savior and Lord, ask Him to save our loved ones and pray for the people and the country and pray the Lord’s Prayer. When I was 9 years old I realized that salvation was the opposite of being deceived and fooled like in the fall, so I started asking him to save us from it, especially to save the woman from it, this came as the first priority and then I started to ask him to give me a saved woman as a girlfriend and as a wife,  as the second priority. When I prayed like this, I noticed that Jesus was close to me, as my best friend, so I can say as it is written, that He was a shadow at my right hand. 

Praying in this way is the central point of the priestly ministry, in the new covenant this became quite clear. Jesus has been faithful to me, He has never abandoned me and I have never denied Him. I get to experience that God answers me from heaven through His Messiah and the Holy Spirit. I have kept Jesus’ words, both what is written in the Bible and what he has spoken to me and reminded me of by his Spirit in the church, as recordings all the way back to about 1990. I have seen it on the basis of what is written in the Bible. And he has taken care of what I have said and written. 

13.1.2024 You’ve gone through a lot of pain, but now it’s time to turn around. Your reward will be great. Prophetic message by Elin Therese Slotten.

“You’ve gone through a lot of pain, but now it’s going to turn around. Your reward will be great. You have gone through much, my child, and have remained faithful. You have had storm after storm, but still believed me and sought me. You’ve held on, even though it cost you all your strength. You’ve prayed, you’ve fasted, you’ve cried, and you’ve hoped! Even if you saw no light, even if you didn’t hear my voice, because the sound of the storm was so loud in your life, you haven’t departed. My beloved child, you have held on when others gave up! You continued to show the other the way, even when the questions were so many in your heart. You never failed and never denied me. My child, I have never left you for a second. You have never been alone or forgotten by me! All heaven knows thy name, and thy faith is seen and admired in heaven. Your reward is immeasurable and it will never be taken away from you. Your love for me is now tested and refined in fire and my heart is infinitely touched by your surrender and faith, even through your many tests and trials. You were never forgotten, my child. You are important! Every single word you have spoken is written down. I will bless you richly, my child. My promises are true. Everything will work out for your good. What the devil meant to destroy you with, I will use against him, to destroy him. He will pay for everything he has done to you. Know, my beloved child, that all your trials did not come from me. The devil comes to destroy, murder, and steal, but I come to give you life, and that in abundance! You will get life in abundance as long as you do not deny my name! “I see all that thou hast said and written down unto me, saith the Lord, which I keep as my greatest treasure. Everything is preserved and taken care of with me. You are precious and important. What you share with me about your dreams and longings is important to me. Don´t believe for a moments that I haven’t heard it or seen it or don’t care. I love you unimaginably much. I long for you to ask me for even greater things. Now is the time for you to dare to ask me for more. Believe me for more than what you can see. Ask me to show you how much you are loved by me. Ask me to show you the greater works I have meant for your life. Believe me for more. Cry out to me, and I will show you great and unimaginable things. Things you don’t know about. Ask me to show you what you’re going to believe me for and I’ll put it on your heart. I have intimate fellowship with you who fear me, and I will show them my covenant. Elijah was a human being under the same conditions as you. And he prayed fervently that it would not rain, and it didn´t rain on the earth for three years and six months. 2025.05.08. Prophetic message: I want to restore your family.

“I have seen how you have been treated by your family, I have seen your pain and I see your wounds. I see your frustration and how much it cost you to be good to the one who hurt you. I am not blind to your situation, I am a God who has deep compassion for you in your trials. I have also been let down and misunderstood by mine, I have been tried in everything, so I have deep compassion and understanding for your pain, my child. The devil has really tried to divide and destroy your family, he only comes to murder, steal and destroy. He is a liar and the father of lies, he has whispered in your ears over and over again, that there is no hope for your family, it will never go well, they will never understand or they will never be saved. But that is a lie, nothing is impossible for me, says God. Fear not, just believe, I can do anything through anyone. I can turn every situation upside down in a day. I am powerful and no one is too difficult for me to change. Just pray to me and have faith, my child, to what I can do. Today is the day to forgive your family, for not loving you as you needed, for not understanding and receiving you as you needed so strongly. Forgive them and let me take care of them and your heart. They can’t love you like I can, they can’t understand you like I can. I will never let you down, my love, I will never let you go or leave you, continue to pray for your family and give them to me. Let me bear them in my strong hand, I will hear your prayer for your family and I will pursue them, if you choose to forgive and bless and not curse them with your words. The first thought was the best.  Recovery.

My father was a mate in foreign shipping and said that the first idea of navigation was usually the right one. We are so lucky that we have grown up in a Christian home, in a Christian church, so we can say that this is how it is in life as well, that the first thought is the right one.

My father was a sailor, a mate, and believed that the first idea was often the right one.

Our father traveled as a mate on foreign voyages, so he could be away for a long time. My oldest brother, Ove, has told me that he said when he was faced with the task of navigating the ship in narrow waters, with other ship traffic, it was the case that the first thought or idea he had was usually the right one. Good and well, then it was just a matter of selecting it and then continuing to control the voyage further, with observations and calculations. We could imagine that he also considered another possibility, but if he were to start calculating that as well, and then evaluate them against each other, there would be no time for that. He had to decide on the best opportunity he saw, to take it while there was still time for it.

I have talked to a couple of guys in the neighboring villages, who were at sea with him. One said that he was the one who taught him to become a sailor, in six months. He told me in particular about a time when they sailed up the Mississippi, there are sandbanks that move and then there are currents. The other said that when he came on board, the safety became much better, he became the safety itself on board. 

When they were at the quay, it was common for the crew to be ashore partying and drinking a lot of alcohol. Sometimes someone fell into the sea by the quay. Then he was the hero who saved them. Once when he jumped in the sea to rescue a guy, the drunk panicked and just wanted to climb up on his head, so he himself had to fight for his life to get control of him. When they got up on deck, my father sat down to breathe out, but the skipper said it was best he got up and went a few laps on the deck, it was safest for his heart. 

Somone also told me that one time he saved someone who was already unconscious, then he held on to the quay-tub with one of him and held the other in the other hand, while he shouted for help, it took half an hour before someone discovered it and came to help. 

At School I didn’t want to do homework.

I was allergic and was hospitalized for a whole month, to take injections, it was supposed to work like a vaccine. Then I fell behind in teaching and as far as I remember, it was about the time I was in the third grade of primary school, probably early in the school year and it was at that time that I didn’t want to do homework, I would rather be outside and play. I can explain it by the fact that I was a realist, so I wasn’t particularly interested in reading what others had fantasized and written, I would rather be out and experience something myself. My mother had probably received a letter from the teacher saying that I was lagging behind, so she put me to do my homework at the kitchen table, while she listened. If I tried to ask her anything, she just said read. Then she was strict.

When my father came home from the sea, he demanded that I learn Bible history, so he asked me about it. He didn´t mind about the rest. It was now perfectly fine with me, for two reasons, because it was something that had really happened, it was not just something that a person had made up. And then it was essential for our salvation and that was most important. I made it a habit to read Bible history. At school, a pupil could be asked stand at  the desk an tell the Bible story. I was pride to do so.

“The Small Primary School” was for the first 3 years, “the Big Primary School” was for ten next 4 years. In the Big Primary School we got science subjects too and I liked that, I liked mathematics too and had a talent for it, it became especially evident when I started middle school, that was a new system, so now 7^th year was the first year in the middle school.

 So I have believed in Jesus at the same time as I have been a realist since I was a little boy, at times I have felt it as a double role I have not been completely comfortable with, but when I allow myself to be reconciled with God on the basis of the gospel, I believe that I get it right with two ways of thinking going well together.

We were “the small boys” who were good friends, but who also argued and fought, so it was good we were taught to forgive each other.

Our father was a mate in foreign shipping and was away for a long time, our mother ran the farm with the help of us, then my oldest brother, Ove, became in many ways the boss, he is 8 years older than me. My brother, Arvid, is a year and a half older than me, but for a long time we were about at the same size. We were called “the small boys”, we were playmates and were supposed to defend each other in primary school. But at home there was also a lot of arguing and fighting between us, he was aggressive and became hostile to me, so I was often disappointed, because I had expected us to be good friends. Often I felt safer when Ove was there and could sort things out.

I remembered one time Arvid talked about revenge and I answered something about revenge. Grandma heard it and reprimanded us, she didn’t want to know about such talk. No, because we were then taught in Christianity and forgiveness is important there. In this way, it gave us a fresh start, so we could be friends again. 

But after many such disappointments, I eventually realized that what I needed was precisely a saved woman for girlfriend and wife, as I had prayed for since I was 9 years old. I also understood that this rivalry between me and him could be explained as the natural struggle for existence, the biological explanation being the struggle for woman. Humans are compared to other animals, where the male animal marks his territory and defends it. But then it is also the case that the male animal defends his family and they defend each other. Those who grow up as siblings defend each other, so brothers can defend a common territory, as is often the case with the big cats. 

If one of my brothers got a wife, I should value it, and if I got a wife, they should value it. The biological explanation for this is that we are genetically quite similar, although we are also somewhat different, so we have a similar interest in passing on these genes to the next generation. Yes, that is the natural purpose, in line with God blessing people and telling them to grow and increase and subdue the earth. 

But I had one more point, I was taught to call upon Christ as our Savior and Lord and ask Him to save my loved ones. So that was the first priority. Eventually, I realized that salvation was the opposite of being deceived and fooled as in the fall, so I began to ask him to give me a saved woman as a wife, as my second priority. This is how the spiritual life and the natural life hangs together. So praying like this was important for the unity of the family. Yes, it was important for the marriage and so it became important for the family as well, so it was and so it is, from generation to generation.

Obviously, if we had continued to argue and fight like we did as small boys, when we got bigger and stronger, it would have become dangerous. Gradually it became clear that I became the biggest and strongest and once I told them that that this was why it had become more peaceful in the house, because I was actually peaceful. It sometimes happened that the thought of avenging came to me, but my faith in Jesus forbade me and I am happy about that, I can thank him for that. Of course it also had to do with us becoming grownups. 

Forgiveness is connected to repentance, we can say that grace and forgiveness give us the opportunity to repent, to return to the first thought, which was the right one, and then to start thinking anew from it. 

In primary and secondary school.

My brother, Arvid, was a year and a half older than me, we had the same bedroom for a long time, in the upper attic. Our mother taught us to pray the evening prayer, it was to invoke Christ as our Savior and Lord, ask Him to save our loved ones and pray for the people and the country and pray the Lord’s Prayer. When he started at the “big school”, the fourth grade of primary school, he told about ugly bullying at school, it had to do with sexuality. This issue became a topic of prayer for us. Then I was 9 years old and began to pray more independently, without her leading us in prayer. About at that time I recogniced that salvation was the opposite of being deceived and fooled as in the fall, so I began to ask him to save us from it, especially to save the woman from it, this came as the first priority and then I began to ask him to give me a saved woman for my girlfriend and for wife, as the second priority. When I prayed like this, I noticed that Jesus was close to me, as my best friend, so I can say as it is written, that He was a shadow at my right hand. 

When I got to “the big school” there was a lot of teasing, mostly by a boy being teased because of a love affair with a girl, something that they made up to tease him, there was some exciting entertainment, it could get boring and thus defiant in the long run, but it was worse when it turned into ugly bullying. Typically, it was a group that joined forces against the individual. That was the socialization.

At the time I was in the 6th or 7th grade (middle school) I came across some Christian literature where it was written that all those who received him, he gave the right to become God’s children. So I thought it through and made myself aware that it was my position in my heart, even though no one else knew. And then I remembered how I prayed when I was 9 years old and started praying like that again. 

I knew it was important to acknowledge my faith in Jesus to the others, but I was afraid of that, for sure I didn’t want to deny Him, so I just chose to keep quiet about it. But I told him in my evening prayer and asked him to deliver me from that fear of man, yes, because our mother had taught us that we could go to him with all our problems, instead of giving ready-made answers to the problems. It was not a huge dogma, the “dogmas” were simple and made us sensible and enabled us to think independently.

When I was in middle school, I fell in love with a Christian girl, I wrote a letter and told her. She wrote back that she didn’t feel anything for me and that she wasn’t a Christian after all. She stopped going to meetings in the Christian School Team and teamed up with another boy during recess. Then I wrote back that I believed in Jesus and tried to persuade her to come back to Him, I wrote that I thought I saw her for me, but she was in darkness, but didn’t fit in there. She was completely surprised that I was a Christian and impressed by my diploma, it seemed, so she was turning to Christ again. 

For me, this was the appropriate opportunity to acknowledge my faith in Jesus, because it was in line with the faith, hope and love God had given me in my heart. I acknowledged the name of Jesus in that context, then I said the truth that sets us free, precisely in that context, that is. I noticed that the love relationship between Christ and his bride was born in me by the Holy Spirit, so for me it was the love between man and woman. 

My mother, in comparison with the widow with the ointment jar.

At Maranata’s national congress 2023, the evening meeting on Saturday 15.7, there was an old woman that “opened the meeting” by reminding us of the widow with the ointment jar. 

The widow only had a small mug of oil, but believing in the prophet’s word and thus in God’s Word, she fetched as many empty tubs from the neighborhood as possible and began pouring the oil into the tub and it did not stop until all the tubs were full. 

2.King.4,1 Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen. 
² And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil. 
³ Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few. 
⁴ And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full. 
⁵ So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out. 
⁶ And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed. 
⁷ Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest. 

The oil is a symbol of the Holy Spirit. Now Maranata is on the internet, Facebook and collaborates with Vision Norway, in this way they reach a lot of people, so they become like such emthy tubs that widow borrowed from her neighbourhood. Through Facebook and youtube, it reaches me too, I thank Jesus for that.

I explain the bullying at the “big school” as a demand to make the children slaves, in comparison to the one who came to make the two sons of the widow into slaves. That problem became a prayer term for my mother, compared to this widow, it was to pray for us, but also for the villagers. She had taught us to pray the evening prayer and continued to do so, it was to invoke Christ as our savior and Lord, pray for salvation for my loved ones and for the villagers, pray for the people and the country and then pray the Lord’s Prayer. I compare it to the widow who brought out empty vessels to fill them with oil.

High school, the gospel and the science.

When I started high school, I discovered that it was in line with Paul’s teachings and the promise that we would enter into God’s rest (Heb.4-5). So I became bold in testifying of my faith and became eager to do so. When I started high school, I started attending the Free Evangelical Assembly and experienced that Jesus spoke to me from heaven both through speech and through the interpretation of speech in tongues. He has continued to do so ever since, in Pentecostal churches and in Maranata as well. The key to this is that His work of salvation is complete and perfect, it is just a matter of receiving in faith and thanking Him for it, that is the central point in the message.

It was the Truth of God’s Word that set me free to do so, so when I went to high school, I became bold in testifying to my faith in Jesus. I discovered that it agreed with Paul’s words that Christ is the head of the man and the man is the head of the woman and so Christ is the head of the church that is his bride. He justified it with both the creation story and the gospel. This was in line with what is written in Heb.3-4, that when the Word through faith merges with us in our hearts, we are allowed to enter into God’s rest. And it was in line with what Peter wrote about the covenant of a good conscience with God based on Jesus’ resurrection from the dead (1 Peter 3:20-22).

I thought that since it was in line with the creation story, it was also in line with science and then it was natural science I was thinking of, at least that was first and foremost, since I was on the “real line” (chosen line in high school) and thinking like a realist. It is not good to understand how natural science and the creation story should match, it is clear that then symbolic interpretation was needed and I have written a lot about that later.

I was in the same class as Arvid, since I was in the first cohort of secondary school and we both chose the real-science line. We had a female teacher in Christianity and once she gave us a homework test that was characterized by confession of faith and/or questions about whether the Christian-threatened knowledge is united with science. In any case, I wrote about how I thought the Christian faith was united with much of evolution. When we got the tests back, she gave some strange grades, the best grade was plus and the worst was minus and then there were two grades that were something in between, in that there was a line on the plus missing, if it was the one pointing down that was gone, then it was a little better than if the one pointing up was gone (if I remember this correctly). She first brought the sample to my brother and asked if it was me, no, I said, it was him sitting right in front of me. Then I was the second to get the sample back. And we were told that we were the only ones who got a plus, he got a bigger plus than I. I was somewhat surprised, but acknowledged that it was surely something it was about something we had discussed.

Even though I believed the creation story matched most of the evolution theory, I was a little unsure if my interpretation and understanding of it was correct, how could I be sure? We seek the truth on the foundation of the gospel, so that it sets us free, we seek what is true and right, so that it corrects both our thinking, speech, and action. At the Fall, people went off the rails, so that they thought wrongly, said what was not true, and made mistakes. Such experiences are not suitable to support true science. So it was good that the gospel was preached first, I mean it cleared the way for modern natural science.

I have only become more and more convinced that the Truth in God’s Word, both in the creation story and in the gospel, is most fundamental and we also need it to protect true and genuine science from what is not true and right, yes, it can guide science further. What else could do that? We must use the wise insight that we are born with anyway, with which we should also be able to assess what makes good guidance.

Regarding our life on earth and especially regarding the love relationship between man and woman, it becomes a question of what is a right life and what is not, but what is sin and what is not. The Bible says that we are all sinners because of the fall. The Law came through Moses, but grace and the Truth came through Christ, so the truth will set us free. It is by that we are attracted to His glory, the glory He has from the Father, since He is the Son of God.

John 1,1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 
2 The same was in the beginning with God. 
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

I came to the conclusion that the creation account agreed with natural science and thus with most of the theory of evolution. God is sovereign over what he has created and so is his Son Jesus Christ and his work of salvation, it is complete and perfect. In short, my message is that God reconciled the world to Himself by letting His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on a cross instead of us, to atone for all the sins of the world. On that basis we are allowed to enter into a relationship with him as men were before the fall, but now Christ is the last Adam, who is from heaven and who has become a life-giving spirit for us. 

And then I say that it applies to me too, I have asked him to give me a saved woman for a wife and think he will give it to me. I have even formulated it so that he has already given it to me. He gives me what Calvary’s cross has already given me, what His blood has already given me, so He will fill me abundantly with that which is perfect. 

Jesus gives me spirit and life from heaven and raises me up to life in fellowship with Him and the Father, and then He gives me a saved woman as a wife by giving her also spirit and life from heaven and raising her up to life in fellowship with Him and the Father.

The university and science, my faith and my philosophy.

Our high school physics teacher said that when we do an experiment and find that the mathematical formula doesn’t fit to describe the process, we just go to the math and find a new formula and try it instead. Without problematizing anything about it, that is. Thus, I compared my faith in Jesus with mathematics, it is a starting point I have to think from, by the grace God gives us in Christ I can constantly return to the starting point and think from that. 

Sin made this difficult and problematic, it separated people from God, but with a sacrifice Jesus took away sin once and for all, on that basis we get to enter society again with the true and living God, who is spirit, so that we can experience it.

1.Joh.1,5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  We gain rational and spiritual insight through God’s Word and God’s Spirit. Rational means sensible and logical, sensible that is, but here we must prioritize believing with the heart, so that we learn to understand with the heart. Then it will probably be fruitful for the brain’s mind as well, the mind that we use when we study science. Smooth as we use the word “hearts” here, it also has to do with brain functions, in the central and lower parts of the brain.

When I started studying science and took the exam in philosophy, I discovered that there had been a long discussion before they came to the conclusion that the method in science was hypothetically deductive, so it was like the physics teacher said, that it was just to go to mathematics and get a formula and try if it fits to describe the process. Since then, I have also discovered that this fits with the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum physics.

I also discovered that the rationalists’ philosophy matched my beliefs. In particular, the mathematician Pascal had said about what I taught and believed, that the Christian faith was a starting point from which I had to think. We can choose it of our own free will, in comparison to choosing a subject that we want to study. 

Since then, I have taught that this is like taking from the fruits that grow on the trees in God’s garden, we just have to be careful not to take of the fruit on the tree of knowledge, it should stand there and grow, but we must not eat from it. Instead, we should choose to eat of the fruit of the tree of life, that is, by believing in Jesus. This is also the case when I studied science, it was not like eating from the tree of knowledge and should not come to be so.

2 Corinthians 11:2 ² For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. 
³ But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 

About six months after I started studying science, Jesus spoke to me something like this: You who had life planted in you, this life, it shall grow. It reminded me that it was planted in me by God’s Word already when I was a little boy.

Jak.1,19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: 
20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. 
21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. 
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. 

Live in fellowship with God and experience that He does something new from generation to generation.

Become God’s children and fellow workers and use the help he gives us. Thank God for what he does and rest in it.

God created humans and blessed them, telling them to multiply and subdue the world. That he blessed them also meant that they should live in fellowship with him and experience that he created something new from generation to generation. This is how they got development and progress, God created through development and that fits for a large part of evolution. 

That was the right thing, but they broke with him, but men were not like God and could not do like him, they were limited. If they became proud and tried to make themselves like God, as in the fall, he punished them for it. Thus many kingdoms arose and perished, and then God claimed that he was the one who did it all.

Now we are reconciled to God on the basis that he let his Son, Jesus Christ, to die on a cross instead of us. On that basis, we are allowed to enter the fellowship with God again. By being born again, of the living water and the Spirit of God, we get to experience that God loves us and cares for us as His children, so that He will raise us and teach us. We get to experience that He does His work with us through His Word and His Spirit and makes us His co-workers. Jesus gives us life from heaven that we get to live and he gives us his Spirit, with which he equips us with graces to serve him, God strengthens us with his power to live and work for his pleasure. We got it by faith in Christ, by grace alone, by receiving Him, bowing down to Him and receiving and then it was just a matter of thanking Him for it in faith. We must continue to do so.

I have asked him to give me a saved woman for a wife, and believe he will give it to me according to the fact that he let the man fall into a deep sleep, then he created the woman from his sidebones and brought her to him, that she might be a help as a wife for him. Then it was quite clear that even if the man was intent on cultivating and protecting God’s garden and thus was God’s co-worker, he could not contribute anything here, this was so fundamental that it was entirely God’s work alone. In this way, we must learn to distinguish between what is fundamental as God’s work and what is our work, with which we serve God and with which God helps us. God gave the man help in the form of a wife and it was God’s work alone.

I will seek the Lord with all my heart, and I will cling unto Him, then I expect Him to come to my aid with His power, and so I expect Him to give me help in the form of a wife (2.Kr 16:9).

I have asked Jesus to give me a saved woman for my girlfriend and wife and believe He will give it to me in accordance with the creation story in Genesis 2 and in accordance with the gospel.

Christ blessed the little children and told us to let them come to Him, for the kingdom of God belongs to such, the adults had to repent and become like children in order to see it and receive it. Through faith in Christ we get a right starting point to think from, through the grace God gives us in Him, we constantly get to return to that starting point and think anew from it.

So I came to the conclusion that the right thing to do was to live in fellowship with God, but now Christ is the last Adam who is from heaven and who has become a life-giving spirit for us. By receiving Him, we get the right to become God’s children, Christ is the way to the Father, by walking that way, we come home to the Father’s house, so that we can experience that the Father loves us and cares for us as His children. In this way, we get to experience that he does something new from generation to generation.

God created Adam out of soil from the field and put him in charge of cultivating and protecting the garden. It gave him meaning in life. Then God would give him help to head him, so that he will let a deep sleep come upon him. Then he created the woman from his side bone and brought her to him. Then he said that she should be called a woman, because she had been taken by a man. How could he know, he was then in a deep sleep? He must have dreamed it. 

In comparison, I believe God gives me a wife at the rebirth, she is born again of the living water and the Spirit of God and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. So it’s a dream that God has given me by His Spirit. She is the bride of Jesus, thus she is his dream, he loves her as his bride through me. For he is the last Adam, who is from heaven and who for us has become a life-giving spirit, he is the head of the man and the man is the head of the woman and in this way Jesus is the head of the church that is his bride.

Then there will be a wedding feast, the Lamb’s wedding feast, and it is important to me my family will be in that feast. That is of first priority, my wedding feast hopefully comes as a second priority, so it shall also be the Lambs wedding feast.

Abraham as an example.  

God created the woman from the man’s side bone also means that she was of his own people. Since he created her in this way, the husband was to part with his father and mother and stick to his wife. 

Abraham became a good example of this, God called him to take his wife with him and go to a land that He would show him and give him. He believed God and did as he said, so that his faith was counted to him as righteousness. God promised him that in him all peoples should be blessed, those who blessed him will be blessed, those who curse him will be cursed. This promise is fulfilled in Christ.

God promised to give him a son with Sarah, his wife and it happened after they were too old for that, as a miracle of God, then they had the son Isaac. When he was grown up enough to marry, Abraham sent his slave back to his people, in his homeland from which he came, to find him a wife. I once heard a preacher speaking over this text and saying that this slave is a symbol of the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives.

Genesis 24,1 And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things. 
² And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh: 
³ And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell: 
⁴ But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac. 
⁵ And the servant said unto him, Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land: must I needs bring thy son again unto the land from whence thou camest? 
⁶ And Abraham said unto him, Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again. 
⁷ The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father’s house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spake unto me, and that sware unto me, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this land; he shall send his angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence. 
⁸ And if the woman will not be willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath: only bring not my son thither again. 
⁹ And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and sware to him concerning that matter.

Yes, saith the Lord, once more I have sent one of my servants to thy place, bringing light, peace, salvation, joy, and gathering my people with me, for refreshment, for renewal, in thy marriage, in thy home, … And I will once again turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to the fathers, that I will not beat the land with a curse, but for a blessing. Open your heart wide and receive the message that is once again sent against you.
